Raised Toilet Seats - Toilet Seat Risers for Standard ToiletsWe carry Raised Toilet Seats for the elderly or those with mobility limitations. When strength in the legs weaken, people can have trouble getting up from a sitting position, especially when the seat is low, such as with many toilets. To help alleviate this problem, there are toilet seat risers that can be easily added to the toilet to help raise the height and make it easier to stand up.Choosing Your Raised Toilet Seat
When choosing a raised toilet seat, you want to make sure that the seat is high enough that the person can easily get up, but not so high that their feet dangle. The feet should be flat on the floor while seated for safety. The most standard elevated toilet seats are about 3" in height; however there are 2", 4" and even 5" high toilet risers available to fit specific user requirements. Raised Toilet Seats with Arms are also an available option for sale. Installation of the raised toilet seats vary.
Installing Your Toilet Seat RiserSome install simply by placing them on top of the bowl for quick install and removal, others include a screw to tighten in place on the bowl; while others install with extra long bolts that hold the toilet securely in place and are great for more permanent installations. Another important issue to consider is the size of the elevated toilet seat. There are 2 kinds of common toilets in the U.S., Standard (Round) Size and Elongated Size. It is important to note that the "round" toilet is actually slightly elongated also. The best way to determine which size toilet you have and avoid ordering errors is to quickly measure your toilet using the basic American Standard guidelines below.Measure from the Center Hinge Holes in the back of the toilet to the Front of the bowl. Standard Size: 16.5" Elongated Size: 18.5"
