Personal security has never been so small or affordable. The FreedomAlert can be programmed to call family, friends, or neighbors, at anytime from anywhere in the home and into the surrounding yard. If the programmed contacts are unreachable – the system can default to call an emergency 911 operator.

The FreedomAlert has the ability to be programmed with up to four (4) contacts to call anytime. The system can be customized with the three position switch on the back of the base unit to select one of three modes. A power outlet and an active landline are all that is needed for the unit to operate. The medical pendant is powered by a lithium-ion battery that lasts up to 6 months on a single charge.

With the new 911 Forwarding feature, a friend or family member can simply dial 911 from their phone while still on the line. The unit will then automatically hang up and dial emergency services.

How It Works:
Can be operated in 3 different ways (Programmable up to 4 numbers):

1. Call up to 4 custom contacts: Calls the first phone number programmed and if there is no answer within a few rings goes to the next phone number programmed
   
2. Call up to 3 custom contacts and then the 911 emergency operator: If none of the custom contacts answers, the system calls the local 911 emergency service.
   
3. Just calls the 911 emergency operator:
   Contacts a free 911 emergency operator as a backup in case a family member or neighbor cannot be reached.

What happens if you are unable to speak?
If you are unable to speak, the Freedom Alert System can still provide important information by utilizing the caller ID system. If the person you are calling has caller ID, they will instantly know that it is you that is calling. If the Freedom Alert is set to the 911 setting, the 911 operator will know your address from which you are calling.

How does the Freedom Alert know that a person has picked up the emergency call and not an answering machine?
Once a call is picked up, about 15 seconds into the call a message is played "This is an emergency call, to continue this call press 5 now otherwise we will hang up and call the next contact or the emergency operator". If “5” is pushed by the person receiving the call, the call continues. If “5” is not pushed, the Freedom Alert hangs up and continues to the next number. This makes sure that the call has been picked up by a live person that wants to help rather than an answering machine or young child.
